The Only Way Up Is Down
The whole world is climbing.
Get the grades. Get the job. Get ahead of the person beside you. From the time we're small, we're trained to climb, and we rarely stop to count what it costs. The people we quietly stepped over. The pieces of ourselves we traded away. And the strange emptiness that can be waiting at the top.
In week two of Steady, we open Philippians 2 and find Jesus walking the one direction none of us would choose: down. From the throne of heaven all the way to a cross. Nobody dragged Him there - He chose every single step.
And there's a reason. In the Kingdom, the way up is not the way we think. This message is about the downward path of Christ, what it looks like to actually walk it in a hard season, and the promise waiting at the bottom for anyone willing to stop climbing.
Because down is the way of Christ. And the path down is the path that leads to life.
This is message two of Steady: Standing Firm in Real Life.
