What Really Matters

Everyone is holding something.

Most of it we built ourselves. The work. The family. The reputation. The quiet proof that we've done alright. And some of us have a church version too - the years of serving, the things we know, the faithful record we've been standing on. The problem was never what's on the list. It's what the list slowly becomes.

In week three of Steady, we open Philippians 3 and meet a man with the finest religious résumé of his generation, who looks at all of it and calls it garbage. Not the bad things. The good ones. Because he found something worth so much more that everything else looked like nothing beside it.

This message is about what it costs to loosen your grip on the good things, the difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing Him, and the one thing Paul spent the rest of his life reaching for.

Because you cannot take hold of what matters most while your hands are full of everything else. Received. Not achieved.

This is message three of Steady: Standing Firm in Real Life.
