Know Your Enemy, Stand Your Ground

Aug 9, 2026    Andrew Masterjohn

Some battles keep coming back.

The same tension in the same relationship. The same thing you were sure you had dealt with years ago. The heaviness that shows up in the week you start moving forward. sometimes we explain it away: a bad stretch, a hard season, a flaw we have stopped expecting to fix. And sometimes we fight whatever is closest: a spouse, a boss, ourselves.

In week one of Bulletproof: Armored for Life, we open Ephesians 6 and the call to put on the full armor of God. But before the armor, Paul tells this church who they are actually facing. There is a real enemy. He is already defeated. And his best strategy is getting you to fight the wrong one.

This message is about who you are actually up against, why the fight is already in progress, and why standing your ground is not the passive thing it sounds like.

You are not fighting toward a victory. You are standing in one already won. You just need your eyes open.

This is message one of Bulletproof: Armored for Life, a four-week series in Ephesians 6.
